The Replacement

A few weeks back I bought this rug.
Andalusia Rug
Let's just say it didn't go so hot.

I'm hoping this one will feel alittle more at home.
MANUFACTURER'S CLOSEOUT! Safavieh Indoor/Outdoor Area Rug, Courtyard CY2962 Natural / Brown 4' x 5' 7"
For only 70 smackers from Macys, I think it's worth a shot.

Look at what I made.

Ok, so Jackson and I made it together, but whatever. I feel like a 5 year old I'm so excited! We made it in 1 shot, son! 1 shot! For those of you who watch Jeresy Shore, you know what I'm talking about.

and saving for later. I'm a happy girl!

When I grow up...

I want an office/library like this. I would remove the green vases and such from the room and replace them with these.

Antique World Globe

My favorite gold candlestick. Who doesn't love Lumiere? Gosh, I love Beauty and the Beast!

If you can't get Lumiere I guess this will do. Metal-Clad Pillar Holders from Pottery Barn.

The pictures Jackson found at the flea market this weekend would go great in this room!

Flea Market Finds

Jackson and I went on a weekend adventure to the flea market. Yes, we considered it a date. Fighting our way through all the trash treasures not yet adopted, we came across some good finds. We found some off-colored items among some colorful people.
                                                                          What the?
Sweet little love birds! The bookcase in the office would be the perfect perch for them!
Can't you just picture this being a beautiful bar? Bottles of rum and such sitting up top. Open her up and all the glasses and mixers. Yum...pour me another!
Love the detail! I'm picturing this in a bright glossy red.

Mirror mirror on the wall who's the fairest of them all? You are!

                                                                  Who let the dogs out?

I have a confession to make...

I'm addicted to shopping at Target (and everywhere else for that matter). I just went in to grab a few things (I swear) and found this gem! Best of all, it was only a 20 dolla holla. Score!

Hints for my Love for his Love

Since men are clueless when it comes to buying gifts I thought I'd help the poor fella out.
Here's some V-Day gift ideas:

OPI Nail Lacquer "A good man is hard to find"or "You don't know Jacques"(not pictured): $7

Escada into the blue: $31-51. I would bathe in this stuff if I could.

Boxes from Homegoods: $?. These would be great for extra storage!

Mirror from Homegoods: $40. I want these x 2. I plan on putting these on either side of the bed on the night stand.

Mr. Horse from Homegoods: $14. He'll live on top of our kitchen cabinets.
Happy shopping!

As snug as a bug in a rug..

Well more like a dog on a couch...or anywhere for that matter. God, I would do anything to catch some z's like them. Here's Duke knocked out
                                                                     Bully kicking back.
Wide eyed and brushy tailed?
Bed bug?
Sweet dreams everyone. I'm calling it a night.

Splish Splash I was taking a bath

Well in our case a shower but you get what I'm saying. Here's a pic of our master bath and hopefully what's to come.

I'm in love with this Octopus Triptych piece. Maybe you've seen it in Bill and Giuliana Rancic's dining room designed by Thom Filicia. I'm also digging the white frame.

Oh Billy

During our trip to Ikea, my Husband and I picked up Billy while we were there. (He's in the brown box).
While putting Billy together, he gave my Husband a fit and me a headace. Nothing a little wine wouldn't fix!
Warning: Ikea's "white" is not a true white so...with spray paint can in hand I went to work. After a light first coat, I noticed it was starting to bubble up and so was my patience with ol' Billy boy. No worries though; I grabbed a can of white paint and rolled it on there. The paint added some texture which then allowed the spray paint to stick when I went back over it with another coat of spray paint.
Now Billy is handsome enough to hold my books and what-nots. I will organize the space more later on but this will do for now.

I'm Dying

Fed-Ex is killing me. I'm waiting for the love rug of my life. This rug not only completes my living room but me as well.
I am pleased for you to meet Mr. Right. (Well let's be honest, he's Mr. Right Now until I fall in love with another rug)

Boresville

Doesn't this boring wall just put you to sleep? Not even Marilyn could glam up this empty space. So...
I gave her a couple of friends to share the limelight with.

I found a couple of shy guys hiding on the office shelf.

So they had to go join the party!

Stripes are not only for the birds

Jail birds that is. Too corny? Sorry, I couldn't help myself.
First step: We marked off the height we wanted. For the thicker stripes we marked off at 12 inches and the thinner ones at 6 inches.
Second, we "broke out" our ol' laser leveler and put it to work.
Then we marked it off.
Next, up went the painters tape.
Here's a picture of the wall when we got done taping it off. As you can see Bully is taking a nap from all the hard work he's done. Poor thing!
I heard if you take the original wall color and paint it over the tape it helps seal the tape to the wall. That way when you go to paint the color you like it won't leak through.I found this information was a waste of time.
Once we got done painting the tan stripes, we removed the tape. After we let the paint dry for a day, we placed the tape over the tan stripe so we could get a clean white stripe.
After we taped it off, up went the white.
Here is a picture of the paint drying.
And here is the finished product! Whatcha think?
