Stripes are not only for the birds

Jail birds that is. Too corny? Sorry, I couldn't help myself.
First step: We marked off the height we wanted. For the thicker stripes we marked off at 12 inches and the thinner ones at 6 inches.
Second, we "broke out" our ol' laser leveler and put it to work.
Then we marked it off.
Next, up went the painters tape.
Here's a picture of the wall when we got done taping it off. As you can see Bully is taking a nap from all the hard work he's done. Poor thing!
I heard if you take the original wall color and paint it over the tape it helps seal the tape to the wall. That way when you go to paint the color you like it won't leak through.I found this information was a waste of time.
Once we got done painting the tan stripes, we removed the tape. After we let the paint dry for a day, we placed the tape over the tan stripe so we could get a clean white stripe.
After we taped it off, up went the white.

  2. Thanks Renee! At first I wasn't to sure how to tackle this project but I must say once we got started it was pretty easy.
